church concert
what
A meditative community church concert of which a recording will be made, where the audience can and may sing along with my refrains (polyphonic) (or not).
why
Nothing is linear.
Years ago I dreamed of giving a meditative church concert where people could sing along. Then I started writing songs that people could sing along. Then I sensed that what I want to put out on social media platforms should be as acoustic as possible and reflect the live atmosphere. What if I record that church concert live, with the audience singing along?
Then I gave living room concerts as a farewell to my house, where I found that people did have a genuine interest in coming to hear what I have to offer. Meanwhile, I discovered my strength and the joy of bringing people together musically, regardless of their experience or background. It occurred to me that if I write out my choruses polyphonically, I can bring people together to connect musically in a connecting and authentic way. And what if these people also come to my church concert and sing along in polyphony?
That would be so great!
“I believe that community singing, which I define as, when a group of folks come together and they sing songs together that are easy enough lyrically and easy enough melodically to be taught in the moment. And then we sing these songs, which I personally call spells or prayers together that are amplified and help put us in some sort of altered state through the process of singing these songs, it's a technology for belonging. It's a technology for metabolizing grief.”

how
I am still brainstorming with myself to make my desire concrete. This page will also be regularly updated in terms of content. The idea is that I offer workshops where people can come and learn my songs polyphonically without obligation.
The idea is grand and there are already many people who want to support me. Money-wise, I am thinking of crowdfunding.
If you have any ideas, would like to support me or anything else, be sure to contact me!
when
Has yet to be scheduled. Exciting!
